The Invisible War

The First Law

Free will is absolute. Neither angels nor demons can force a human choice. This is the only thing keeping the war in the shadows.

To win, they must persuade, seduce, deceive, or terrify. They need consent.

This is why The Veil exists—angels hypnotize and edit memories to hide their true forms, while demons simply kill witnesses to keep their secrets.

The Veil Symbol

The Host (Angels)

They are not guardians; they are soldiers of cosmic order. In true form, they are beings of soft golden light and terrifying power.

Abilities: Telepathy, memory erasure, and sensing demonic presence. They cannot heal or resurrect—that violates destiny.

They operate from a place of fear: fear of chaos, fear of the Adversary, and fear of humanity's unpredictability.

The Host

The Fallen (Demons)

Twisted, hungry, and dangerously intelligent. While they can manifest in human-like skins, their tells give them away: jerky movements, "off" eyes, and the smell of sulfur.

True Form: Serpentine, iridescent scales, oversized lizard-like entities that crawl on walls.

Goal: To gather the Seven Relics and free their master, Satan, from his prison.

Demon Symbolism

The Human Resistance

The government doesn't know. But two ancient orders fighting in the shadows do:

  • The Keepers of the First Garden: Scholars and ward-weavers who believe in containment. They study prophecy and lock dangerous things away.
  • The Covenant of Ash and Starlight: Hunters and mystics who believe in active warfare. They bleed to fuel their wards and strike back.
